Mission Impossible:
Appraising the Rare, the Uncommon,
and the Mind-Boggling
The work of a real estate appraiser is full of challenges. With experience and education many of these challenges become routine. Nevertheless, appraisers occasionally face an appraisal problem that is quite out of the ordinary and that requires uncommon insight and skill to arrive at a solution. The course will cover a variety of examples, including: unique design; unusual features; partial interests; properties with no demonstrable market; and assignments where data is scant or nonexistent. An enjoyable class that will help you expand your business.

Building Green:
Market Trends in Earth Friendly Housing
Like it or not, environmental awareness is an emerging market that is
influencing land use regulations, housing design and construction
materials, and commercial development. These changes are producing a
direct and measurable affect on real estate market value. A growing
segment of the marketplace believes that, "Humans are important, but not
the sole participants, in life on this planet." They insist that humans
need to take better care of their habitat by creating environmentally
sustainable building structures.
Some of the topics covered:
√ What are the characteristics of earth friendly housing?
√ How to identify the value influence of "green" property
characteristics.
√ "Green development" trends in commercial property construction.
√ Is there a greater moral imperative than preserving the natural
environment?
√ What are the cost benefit considerations for environmentally
sustainable building structures?
√ Who should determine what practices are environmentally sustainable?
